Where is KBS Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio (Sukira)

Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio (also known as SuKiRa) is a radio program in which Super Junior members Eeteuk and Eunhyuk DJ. On some days you can watch the show live (these are called ‘BORA’ shows) by going to the KBS studios. To find out if a show is going to be shown live, you can either find out by going to the homepage of Kiss the Radio or checking out fansites. I find that most forums will give you a list of viewable Sukiras for the week.

Many people make the mistake of directing people to the KBS Hall, which is in fact a totally different building. What you really want is the KBS Main Station (방송국 본관). The window to see inside the studio is facing the street so you probably won’t miss it if you are on the right road. And being on the right road is the reason why you’re here right?

SUKIRA WEBSITE
SUKIRA ADDRESS: 대한민국 서울특별시 영등포구 여의동 KBS방송국 본관
METRO STOP: National Assembly (국회의사당) Line 9. Exit 4
DIRECTIONS: The simplest way to get there is to walk straight out of exit 4, going straight until you hit the end of the road and then turn right. The location is to your right and it’s really hard to miss especially at night. The sign there glows very brightly. Not only that, but there will be a gathering of girls there waiting for it to start.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?:

The viewing window is right below this sign.

WHAT TO DO?: There are a number of things you can do when you get there. They leave the doors to the indoor part of the studio open for the girls to come in and take pictures. You can watch the boys enter and leave the studio from here (they will come around 9:50, just before the show starts at 10pm). You can’t get too close, but it allows for a small photo opportunity for fans.

This is where you can take pictures of the boys entering the studio.

Outside is the window for viewing. The benches will be marked off by girls who came earlier and left a piece of paper there to mark their place. These girls are usually fans that run websites and need the pictures for those websites. Please let them take their pictures because most of them are nice (at least the ones I’ve met) and will move or make room for you if you want to see them later on in the show. Most of them will leave after the first hour, some will not.

WHAT TO PACK?: Rain gear or a fan during summer months, and a heavy jacket for the winter ones. The place where they have Sukira is actually covered a bit, but when the rain or snow blows, it comes into where you stand and that’s just unpleasant. Remember your camera (the one with the good lens) if you want pictures. And try not to make your signs too big because they irritate everyone around you who want a look at the boys too.

Most of the people there will be foreigners, like you and me, so you won’t have a hard time communicating with other fans. All in all, it’s a great place to meet other fans as well as get some quality time with boys that you probably won’t be able to meet otherwise.

  1. Hi, I’m going to Korea in August. And I really like to go Sukira live radio broadcast. Can u direct me more clearly? Do I have to queue or email or take any tags in order to enter? Where can I check when is the Sukira bora? Doesn’t really know how their website function. Thanks so much for sharing ur experience there! Hope u can help me with this. Thanks so much! 🙂

    • Hi there! You really don’t have to have anything to go to a Sukira and the bora schedule is up on most SJ forums (actually, I think all of them have them). Check either sj-world.net under “SJ schedule” or somewhere on SJ-Market. I can’t really describe how to get there any better than I have here. Follow the directions and the fangirls and you’ll probably find it ^^

  2. Hi! Can i ask if i want to mail a letter to sukira, what address should i put? Can you tell me the exact address? So that i can mail it there correctly. I am foreign fan and really wish to send them a letter! THANKS alot!!^^

    • I’m not quite sure you CAN mail them letters. If you’re trying to get something to Sungmin or Ryeowook, that’s almost impossible. If you want them to read something on air you have to sign up on the Kiss the Radio boards and post whatever you want to tell them there (at least, that’s how I’ve been told it works)

For anything other than that, I can’t say D:

      • Yeah i wanted them to read something on air… Oh so i need to sign up! Thanks for telling me!!! 😀 I need to sign up at the ktr website? But i dont know korean… T.T

      • I would love to help but my korean is just horrible and I think you have to have a korean identification number to sign up. I’ll have a look at it and if it’s possible without one, i’ll let you know

  3. Hey, I was wondering how do I find out if a show is BORA or not? I was planning to go to Yoo In Na’s Volume Up right before this as well Sukira. Since Yoo In Na’s isn’t as popular and I’m unable to join her daum fan club, is there any way to find out about that information?

  4. Hi! I was wondering if its possible to pass gifts to the djs? :c I didn’t quite understand what you meant in the above stated D:

    • it is possible, but highly unlikely. i’d say don’t try because you’ll end up pissing someone off. you’re not allowed to come close to them most of the time so it’s really hard to pass them anything.

  5. I am not really sure of 1 thing ~
Can I see them from the window outside on non-bora days or must it be bora days in order to see them at sukira

  6. “They leave the doors to the indoor part of the studio open for the girls to come in and give their boys gifts.” Does it mean we can leave gifts there?

    • it’s very rare that you’re able to give them gifts. the staff will usually scold you for giving them gifts. sometimes tho, they allow a little stack. I’ve seen it once, but it might have been a special occasion, idk. but the doors are open so you can come in and watch them arrive if you wish.

  7. Hello, I was wondering if there are any places to stay nearby (like jjimjilbangs), since by the time broadcasts end, the trains will have stopped running. What do foreign fans with no place to stay in Seoul do?

    • I don’t know of places to stay in the vicinity. Most ppl will take a taxi to their hotels or stay at a 24hr cafe they find on the way. I’ve never stayed the night there so I can’t tell you, sorry.

      • Thank you for your reply! Did you just leave early? I am thinking of going this week because I heard there is going to be an open concert, but I don’t really know what that is (I.e. will they be outside for the full 2 hours, or just the end?). I have considered leaving early to catch the late-night buses back home, but since I’m going mainly to see them/Ryeowook, I’d like to stay as long as possible. Haha!

      • I have a bus that goes to my home even after they are finished. If not i usually just go by taxi home. Sometimes I will leave early if I’m feeling unwell.

Open concerts are usually the entire sukira I believe. U will probably want to come earlier on that day and stake out a good seat.

  8. (Sorry for some reason there’s no reply-to-comment option anymore)

Thanks for the heads up! I was thinking of showing up around 7:30-8. Would that be too early or late? Haha. Are you going? Might end up seeing you there ^^

    • not that i know of, sorry! I think you can leave messages on the boards on the official site, but I haven’t done it ever myself, so I can’t help you there sorry!

    • It depends on where you’re going? for places far, you probably don’t want to stay past 11-1130. for closer places you can probably stay till about 12 but then you’ll have to run to the station. There are also buses, but I suggest getting the jihachul app on your phone or mobile device (does not need a connection to work) to figure out when your last train is.

  9. Do you know wat time will they arrive ? I want to meet them if i can . I wonder us the place near myeongdong bcoz i don not know much bout there . Do we need to pay money to c the boys ?

  11. I think give them gifts is almost impossible. I’m foreign fan and I want to give them some gifts by sending by post (office). Can I do it? And will the staff receive it? If not, how can I give gifts to RyeoWook?

    • At this time, there is no sure way to give gifts to your idols unless you get into a fansign. Ryeowook does not receive gifts at kiss the radio, but if you’re very lucky you might be able to hand something at the car? Because of security risks, giving gifts of any kind is strictly monitored so they do not have a place you can send it to.

  12. Hiya. What do you mean by outside the window is the viewing bench ? Where exactly the bench is located ? Inside or outside ? How do we know the open doors are for us to go in ? Can we actually go in the studio to meet the boys face to face ? Are they any foreigners that can speak english coz my korean isn’t very fluent . So if it isn’t the Bora day , we can’t c the boys and that means the doors aren’t open to fan girls right ? If I get there any earlier , will I be able to save a seat for myself ? And how earlier would that be if I can save a seat ? If I get there early , can I go in KBS and then come out . Until 10.00 I go in again . Thanks 🙂

  13. What is the station’s calling-in number? As a foreign fan, I would like to try and call in the radio station to speak with Ryeowook-oppa! 🙂

  14. What does it mean by 보이는 라디오 ? I’m in Korea now and wantto go to lye tosee ryeowook ?? Will I be able to see him tomorrow or other day ?? ^^
